4月8日讯，英特尔公司的全球投资机构，英特尔投资在今日下午举办的在华10周年庆典上宣布，已成立“英特尔投资 - 中国技术基金 II”，新基金总额为5亿美元，用于支持英特尔公司长远战略发展目标。这个新基金将主要面向从事无线宽带技术、数字多媒体、通信、半导体、数字医疗和节能环保科技的中国公司，致力于推动中国本土的技术创新并促进中国信息技术产业的发展。
“新的‘英特尔投资 - 中国技术基金 II’在金额上是上一个基金的两倍多，它的成立是英特尔投资庆祝在华十周年、见证中国经济成长的最好方式。”英特尔公司执行副总裁兼英特尔投资总裁苏爱文（Arvind Sodhani）表示，“自1998年以来，我们已经在中国和中国香港的9个城市投资超过70家公司。英特尔投资希望凭借此新基金，进一步提升中国本土自主创新能力和创业精神，从而推动中国本土高科技公司的成长，并增强其在国际市场的竞争力。”
2005年6月成立的规模为两亿美元的第一个“英特尔投资 - 中国技术基金”已经基本投完。第二个“英特尔投资 - 中国技术基金”的成立正值英特尔40周岁的日子。与此同时，英特尔投资也宣布这个新基金已经完成了对两家中国公司的投资，分别是：
上海浩方在线信息技术有限公司：浩方对战平台为用户提供了全新的游戏体验，该平台支持电子竞技游戏、单机游戏、网络游戏、休闲游戏，它使游戏用户可以在宽带局域网中互动作战。
新奥特（北京）视频技术有限公司：生产并向全国的电视台销售视频设备、网络解决方案及管制系统。新奥特同时提供数字化内容编辑和体育节目直播服务。新奥特公司还是2008年北京奥运会电子中文翻译服务供应商。
“我们第一个‘英特尔投资 - 中国技术基金’已向28家公司注资，现在，是进一步推进我们扶植本土科技创新承诺的时候了。” 英特尔投资亚太区总监张仲说，“英特尔投资希望加大在中国市场的投资力度，加快投资步伐。作为全球领先的技术投资机构，英特尔投资将一如既往，在高科技领域开展全方位投资。其所具备的独特企业背景优势和创造价值的能力将为对被投资的公司带来极大的裨益。”
第一个“英特尔投资 - 中国技术基金”于2005年6月成立，旨在扶植中国企业的科技与产品创新。从该基金获得投资的中国技术公司包括：东软集团、浙江中控、A8音乐集团、蓝汛通信、芯邦微电子、迪岸传媒（上海信语通），海辉软件、金山软件、凌讯科技、澜起科技和掌中彩信息科技等。其中成功上市的企业包括：珠海炬力、金山软件和东软集团等。
总值5亿美元的“英特尔投资 - 中国技术基金 II”预计在未来的5～7年内投完，它的设立再次印证了英特尔对中国的长远投资和承诺。“2008年对英特尔中国是具有历史意义的一年：在中国改革开放30年之际，英特尔也迎来了自己40岁生日”， 英特尔公司全球副总裁兼中国大区总经理杨叙说，“英特尔与中国IT产业在过去20多年的共同发展，代表着英特尔与中国的‘芯’心相印。展望未来，我们将一如既往地坚持植根中国的战略，支持和推动中国IT产业的发展，构建一个可持续发展的行业生态环境。”
